Cyclification of Human Motion for Animation Synthesis
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, new techniques are introduced for matching the motion cycle boundaries by using simple animation processing algorithms based on some observed characteristics from different families of cyclic motions. Matching the cycle boundaries is one of the essential stages in generating a stream of animation of cyclic human movements. If the cycle boundaries are not matched, noticeable artifact and flickers will appear at these boundaries regardless of how realistic is the available motion cycle. The proposed techniques are developed to modify the motion cycle even in the case, where only one cycle is provided. These techniques do not only match the cycle boundaries but also correct other parts of the cycle and motion constraints. The techniques are computationally efficient as they work directly on the animation data (without conversion to intermediate representations such as spline or time-frequency transforms). Moreover, many aspects of animation (including joint limits and important motion constraints) are preserved as the modification is guided by the original motions.

متن کاملFrom Keyframing to Motion Capture: The Evolution of Human Motion Synthesis
A survey is given for the techniques of human motion synthesis from the viewpoint of human computer interaction. The focus is on an overview based on the interaction of these animation systems between human and computer. To design a good interactive system, we concern the underlying structure of such a system more than the concrete interface that the system will adopt. Therefore, we first analy...
متن کاملHigh-level Multi-Parameter Synthesis of Human Animation from Motion Capture Data
This paper presents a high-level parametric approach for synthesis of novel human animation sequences from short clips data. The parametric approach generates motions according to user-defined high-level motion parameters, such as speed, slope and direction, while maintaining the quality and realism of captured motions, and preserving the motion constraints. The approach allows simultaneous con...
متن کاملEmotional Communicative Body Animation for Multiple Characters
Current body animation systems for Interactive Virtual Humans are mostly procedural or key-frame based. Although such methods provide for a high flexibility of the animation system, often it is not possible to create animations that are as realistic as animations obtained using a motion capture system. Simply using motion captured animation segments in stead of key-framed gestures is not a good...
